We are currently supporting 17 orphans in the poor rural area of Trans Nzoia in the north west of Kenya and expect to be caring for 30 children by the end of the year when the new home is complete.

One of the main aims is to teach the children to be self sufficient (by teaching them cooking, basic agriculture and giving them an education) so when they become adults the transition into the community will be smooth and easy for them.

The care of the orphans has had a very positive effect on the local
community ... as you can imagine if you are dying of AIDS one of your biggest worries will be what will happen to your children
